Every time Jeannie looks into a wave she hopes to see the face of her son again. Todd Chesser was a professional surfer who died in 1997 riding big waves. This was the worst tragedy in her life. After the death of her husband and son, the feeling of being alone constantly persuaded her. Jenny’s family moved to Hawaii and from youth she dedicated her life to surf. Cups and trophies at her home are not counted. As well as friends, who always supports Jeannie during her challenging journey. Three years ago Jeannie heard the verdict that she got cancer. Her beloved people and ocean never left her; in fact their unconditional support and love were crucial for her survive. During chemotherapy she tried to gathered strength to be in the ocean. After a session coming back to the shore Jeannie fell in the sand and could not get up. «The ocean can take a life and can give it back» — says Jeannie. Jeannie never gives up, defeating cancer and continuing surfing.
Chesser painted surfboard for the film «In God's Hands» in 1997, opened the path to the infinite creativity. At the moment she draws wonderful paintings and makes art jewelry from shells. «She owes to the ocean her boundless energy and unique light» Jeannie says. Becoming a legend and epitome of surfing. Each surfer of Waikiki considers a matter of honor to wish good waves for Jeannie before morning surf.
